Lesbian Couple Gets Marriage Annulled
Mr. Christopher from the My Wedding Favors blog. A lesbian couple that fought the hard fight to legally get married is now legally trying to undo the bond of holy matrimony. Three years ago, Charisse Y. Sparks and Janet Y. Peters Mauceri Sparks got married in Boston, Massachusetts and set an amazing precedent for gay marriage. Then the couple moved to Missouri and things started falling apart in their marriage. The problem is that Missouri did everything in its power 4 years ago to keep the laws very clear that marriage is specifically between one man and one woman.
Judge Daniel Kellogg plans to treat the case just like a regular annulment. Sparks claims that she doesn’t recognize the marriage, but her partner says that the marriage is completely legal. Another hearing has been scheduled to try and resolve the situation on April 2.
